Yeah, I think there should be picking objects :) It's a part of any logical game ;)

I'm pretty sure that's what the phys ray cpp file is for, but I haven't really checked it out.

Yeah, there is physic-raycasting for this. But we want to change physic into Bullet :) So now we don't make any changes to newton-physic.

Wait, so are we definitely changing to bullet? I know there was talk about it, but we were more in favor of having a working game soon. I heard there's a Physics Abstraction Layer which lets you just swap physics engines in and out, but, again, I've never actually used it.

shua, newton doesn't work with soft bodies and runtime fluids. Any new game should use these futures :) Rewriting physics reduced to rewriting physic main class methods. And yeah, it's something like abstraction layer. But if you told about opportunity to use some physic engines... Then there are more work.

Newton's more accurate though, that might have been the reason for using it. I just think one thing at a time, first we should get the scripting in. Then, if the game is boring without fluid bodies, we'll switch to newton. To be perfectly honest, I do think fluid bodies make a game look cooler, but when I was playing it, I wasn't thinking, "Man! if only it had fluid bodies, this game would be so much better!"

As far as ropes go, I know newton can do that with segments attached by ball-and-socket joints, and beyond that, I can't see a major improvement to the game with fluid bodies other than looks.

shua, I'm fully support your opinion. You'r right, but yeah, the first thing we should realize - script system. And if you want, u could see implementation of picking objects in game editor and write patch for play-mode.
