Thank you, now i can has teatank! But why does it always look shinier and less jagged in your renderings than if I just render the mesh you gave in Blender? (/facepalm, I just need to subsurf it at render time)

He's using 3DS Max to render it, or an external renderer (EDIT: He's using V-Ray). :)

And... I just about jumped out of my seat when I saw an email from the Portalized Forums, I thought it was a new thread, not a new post... :(

Uh oh.

Let's not start one of those shitty petitions.

null and svenstaro are working as fast as they are able, I'm sure. It might be painful, but you guys have waited ages already. Surely a little bit extra shouldn't be so hard?

we dont want them to work harder.... we just want a indication of when it will come out
if that isint possible then maby just a update on how close they are to finished....

what exactly is your goal for a public release? what ends do you want to tie? what do you want to polish?

i know its hard to make a estimate for a release date

seriously people can handle a date.... =;

To answer a little of that: We will release at the end of summer, you guys probably won't see any polish at all at first, we want just a little gameplay to be in there and then we'll release. :)

So, for the release, would the end of summer be around the 20th of September?

And by gameplay, do you mean like, character model, weapons (more like tools), and abilities? It seems like you have the editor and the technology of the game pretty close to complete.

22nd of September at the latest, I would imagine. Since that's when Autumn starts.
I'm glad they're taking the time to add a little shine to the project. :D

Just take your time guys... Im just afraid of how Portal™ addicts will spew out map clones inside Port... Er, I mean "Pseudoform".

It *would* be interesting to see the alternate ways you could complete a Portal map using the new and shiny techniques in Pseudoform. Especially all the scaling up/down and the through-portal gravity systems.

Okay, you do have a point. But the movable/scaleable portal system would prove far too advanced compared to the meager Portal gun. Completing each test chamber would be a snap... Though one could modify the map to conform to Portal's objective: getting from point A to point B.

I think that's just blender, maybe he didn't put any serious textures for it, because he probably uses 3DS Max for it most of the time because of rendering quality.

I believe the textures are special V-Ray textures that are proprietary to the V-Ray renderer, which is what he used to render the images. So yes, you'll have to recreate the textures. :)
